Bring the abundance mindset to Safari.

I’m a big fan of the abundance mindset.

Those that choose to walk along the path of abundance experience a completely different life. Opting to live life to the full, exuding happiness, generous by nature, creative and inspirational.

It’s one of those things I think about often, and find useful in day-to-day life.

Switching your thinking from “I can’t afford that” to “I could afford that if I chose to buy it”. Going from “I have no time” to “I’m surrounded by time”. And even having empty kitchen cupboards to ensuring there’s at least 2 of everything you use in your reserves.

For me it’s about space.

Having the space to think, breathe, and be.

And you can bring that thinking to your browser window. That might seem like an odd place to introduce abundance mindset. Just think for a second about how much time you spend in your web browser. It’s probably double what you think.

I love the way Superhuman serves up a beautiful image each time you hit inbox zero. It reminds me to breathe.

I wanted to bring that same tactic to Safari. Of course, someone out there already had my back.

See a beautiful image each time you open a new browser tab or window.

Here’s what you need to do…

  1. Go copy the HTML from this page and paste it into a plain text editor (something like TextEdit on a Mac).

  2. Save the file as whatever you want. Just make sure it ends in .html.

  3. Then in Safari go to File > Open File… and open the file you just created.

  4. You should see a full screen image in your browser. Now go to Safari > Preferences, and click the ‘Set to current page’ button.

  5. Change the options for ‘New Windows Open With’ and ‘New Tabs Open With’ dropdown to ‘Homepage’.

This can bring up some quite random images (it’s really anything that’s on Unsplash). I like to narrow it down a bit by changing the Unsplash URL from to[collection id]. Replace that last bit with a collection ID from this page.
